Graduation is such an exciting time in a person’s life! Soon you’ll be going off to college, starting a new job, or traveling the world.
Today we’re going to teach you how to make graduation hats!
We’ll start with a list of supplies:
- white poster board (you can use colored paper too!
- construction paper in your school colors
- glue stick
- scissors
- pencil
- ruler/straight-edge guide
Now that we have our supplies let’s get started!
Step One: Draw out your hat shape on one side of the poster board and cut it out.
Step Two: Next, make a little donut-shaped template to trace onto the other side of the poster board. This will be the brim. Trace around this shape with a pencil or pen or marker, cut it out, then use your glue stick to connect both pieces of the hat together.
Step Three: Decorate! Get creative! Use construction paper in your school colors to decorate your hat any way you want. You can color stripes on there, draw flowers or symbols representing graduation, paint it all one color. The possibilities are endless!
Step Four: When you’re done decorating put your initials somewhere on your hat so when people see it they know who made it. Now you have a totally unique and personal graduation hat!
